Feeling rough!!! Heart failure or prednizolone plus azothioprene?

24th March 2013

Hi everybody, Anybody out there got this experience? If so, how about giving me a bit of advice? I have polymyalgia rheumatica, apart from all the cardiac problems, and a few weeks ago developed temporal arteritis for which I was given steroids, a reducing dose, from 60 a day, down, now to 40 a day, because I have been given azothioprene as well, starting at 50 a day. But the side effects are not nice. I am sitting here wide awake. The steroids apparently keep you wakened. This is tthe treatment for the temporal arteritis.

Aortic valve replacement surgery

Some surgeons say a tissue valve will last up to 15 years and some like the one i got said 5-10 years. Some say a metal valve will last a lifetime and yet i have also been told and read that a metal valve can start to fail after 25 years.
