Where to start

Welcome to our community, we're glad you found us!

This is our step by step guide on how to get started on our community. If you need a helping hand or have any questions email us and we'll be happy to guide you through.

1. Register to the community

To start interacting on our community you'll need to register, don't worry though, it's totally free and only takes a few minutes. If you already have login for the BHF website or Heart Matters online then you are good to go! You can get a reminder of your password on our website. Once you've registered you should visit our community guidelines discussion and read the do's and don'ts for interacting online.

You can then edit your profile so that you can tell the rest of the community about yourself; why you are here and what your hobbies are. You can also add a photo to show everyone who you are.

2. Join the discussions

Now you've registered and read the guidelines, you're ready to join the discussions. Visit our discussion forum and you can start to meet and chat to other people. A good starting point is to visit the introductions discussion and post a brief introduction about yourself.

We cover lots of different topics in our discussion forums like how to prevent heart disease, living with a heart condition or even discussions about our upcoming events like the London to Brighton Bike Ride. If you just want to switch off from it all you can relax and have a chat about Eastenders or the latest book you've read in the social (off topic) section.

So take a look around and see what you're interested in.

3. Start a new discussion

If you can't find a topic or the exisiting discussions aren't quite what you're looking for, then you can start a new discussion by clicking the 'post new discussion' button in the forums.

4. Need help?

If you're having trouble or have any questions, post a question in our community feedback section or email Roberto and Kate, our Community Managers and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
