Groups are mini communities on topics of special interest such as a local fundraising branch or an international trek, You can suggest a new group at the bottom of the group home page.
Alternative and complementary therapies
We are dedicated to providing high quality information based on peer reviewed research on disease of the heart and circulation. An alternative therapy is one which tries to treat disease by unconventional methods instead of the scientifically based medical treatments. A complimentary medicine is one which used alongside scientifically based medical treatments. When discussing alternative or complementary therapies, please do not:
- Advocate the use of any alternative or complimentary therapy as a treatment for disease of the heart and circulation.
- Claim that any alternative or complementary therapy can cure disease of the heart and circulation, control associated symptoms or reduce the risk of developing it
- Encourage members to attend practitioners of alternative or complimentary medicine instead of attending a medical expert
You can mention that you are taking or receiving an alternative or complimentary treatment and tell your story but please do not make claims that could act as encouragement for another member to follow suit.
