Blenheim Palace Half Marathon
Hi everyone,
Blenheim Palace Half Marathon is fast approaching - who's going to be taking part on Sunday? How has your training been going?

It looks set to be a great day, and you'll be in good company - Liz Locke, runner up from the Apprentice 2010, and Clare Nasir, TV weather presenter, are taking part in the event.
Good luck to everyone running!

Hi Rosemary,
Thank you for sharing your story, I'm sorry to hear that you lost your father to a heart attack. It sounds like you were really brave at the time, I bet your family are so proud of you!
Great to hear that you've signed up to Blenheim and that you're looking forward to it
If you have any questions about the event just give us a shout and we'll be able to help. Good luck with the training!

I have just registered for the Blenheim Half Marathon - I used to go to school in Woodstock and we used to run round the park for PE lessons sometimes!
I wanted to do the BPHM in memory of my dad, Ted Hobbs, who died last year aged 82 from a heart attack. Although I administered CPR (just like the advert!) he died in hospital 2 hours later. I was glad I could keep him alive long enough for him to be airlifted to the Raigmore and that he didn't die at home in front of my mum and my 3 children. I was with him at the end and am so greatful for the help the Scottish Ambulance Service gave me on the 'phone - truly amazing folks!
He suffered his first heart attack at 57 but with help from the JR Hospital in Oxford, his doctors and the BHF he changed his lifestyle and lived for over another 20 years.
I have started training already for it - but I have a long way to go...I can manage 3 miles at the moment with no problem...and I am loosing weight too which is fab. Really looking forward to the 7th October.
