Hello everyone! Here at the British Heart Foundation we're really excited about our latest campaign, which we hope will save lives.

Our new TV ad, starring Vinnie Jones, is aiming to get untrained bystanders to try hands-only CPR if they see someone who's had a cardiac arrest. Saving a life could be as simple as pushing hard and fast in the centre of the chest, in time to Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees.

Watch the ad and let us know what you think! If you'd like to find out more, see our webpage.

What do you think about the ad? Would you try CPR if someone near you had a cardiac arrest?

An excellent ad. Gets the message across in an easy and funny way. It sticks in the mind the way that the advert for people who have had a stroke did. A good bit of acting as well especially the two heavies in the background.

I Love it, I love It, I love it. I was actually at the cardio rehab centre when I first heard about the advert, And when I acually saw it myself I could not stop laughing.

Well done I say,  its a very slick way to get the message across

Great advert, but did anyone else think that Vinnie was doing the compressions too high up on the chest?  Maybe the props department could not find a big enough sovereign medallion.

I love this ad!  as my daughter performed CPR on me and really saved my life almost 5 years ago I feel very strongly that CPR should be covered in schools and workplaces, this ad covers most people. My daughter had had a session of First Aid at one workplace and CPR was mentioned,, THANK GOODNESS it was!!

Well done BHF for bringing this ad to general public, I am sure it will save a life at some point.

regards, Margaret

I had to do hands only CPR on my dad last year when he suffered a heart attack.  I was guided by the ambulance service over the telephone on how to do it.  I would not hesitate to do it again on anyone who needed it.  Well done on the advert - it's fantastic!  I must admit it bought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat when I first saw it.  When I did the CPR on my dad I started too low down unfortunately and it seems really easy to do it in the wrong place.

Rosemary, well done and i am sure it was best to start "too low down" than not do anything!  My daughter probably helped towrds several cracked ribs but hey! I am here to tell the tale! Margaret

I'm so glad Margaret.  I heard a discussion on TV recently about people being to afraid to do CPR especially on a stranger incase they got sued for breaking ribs....I did feel my dads ribs 'go' when I started the CPR but the doctor assured me it did not contribute to his death.  Very hard to deal with that though.  Thank goodness for your wonderful daughter.  Best wishes, Rosemary x
