I had a pacemaker fitted 9yrs ago..i was so worried to,but i have to say it was no problem at all.i never think about it now.i still do all the things i used to do.sswimming walking holidays abroad etc..so try not to worry you wil be fine.
HI Joy,
I have only just joined this group, and this is the first time I have send anyone a message. I suppose you have had your pacemaker fitted by now, and will be used to it. I am wearing my third pacemaker. I had the first inserted when I was 40 years old, and I understand how scared you must have been. I had never even heard of pacemakers, but that was 28 years ago. The only problem I have ever had is at airports, when I have to have a bodysearch by security. When I got the first inserted it was a big deal, now I do not even see a doctor when I go to have it checked. The technicians check the batteries, it takes ten minutes max, and then I am away for another year. I led a perfectly normal life. OK, when I forgot about it, and wore lower cut t-shirts, I would see people occasionally looking at the scar, but what the heck!!! Badges of courage!!

What are you worried about Joy?
Maybe a bit more about why you had it would help to reassure/advise you.
