Well done Garry. I had my aortic valve replaced on 31st October and am going back to work tomorrow! Doing it gradually - 4 hours a day this week, 5 next, 6 the next and then back to full-time the week after.

I took the full dose of painkillers for about 4 weeks (except only one Tramadol as it made me feel sick) and then reduced it to mornings and evenings - taking some during the day if it was needed. i still get a bit of discomfort from my sternum and ribs, which comes and goes, but nothing too drastic.

I'm glad to hear everything is going well for you. Are you coping okay with the warfarin? I had a tissue valve as I already have thin blood, which would have made being on warfarin difficult to control - I also don't like needles!!!!

Best advice is - do what you should do and don't do what you shouldn't do! smiley

Take care

Wendy
