Introductions: Recent heart attack
I had a heart attack three weeks ago. Travelling with work I had the most nauseating pain in my jaw; two episodes lasting about 20 minutes. I had three more episodes over the next two days before my wife persuaded me to go to the walk in clinic who took blood tests which resulted in me being admitted to hospital.
Two blood tests revealed troponin levels of 50 and 64. I had an angiogram which showed that my right coronary artery was 100% blocked. I have been discharged with meds but expect to be going back to hospital for a viability study before any other treatment is decided.
I am 51 btw , have a healthy diet (don't eat meat), never smoked and a moderate drinker. My job and lifestyle is relatively inactive which hasn't helped but major factor is a family history of heart attacks.
I have to be honest and tell you I am terrified. Terrified of what lies ahead, of what might happen and how my life has completely changed.
I would like any advice on I might expect treatment wise and how you cope because I really am not coping at the moment.
