Tetralogy of Fallot
Hi,
I have Tetralogy of Fallot and Im 24 and i was just wondering if its common to feel "down" alot? Lately ive kinda been feeling very "alone" and just feeling generally rubbish and it all seems to be coming back to the fact that I have a heart problem?
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi BumbleBee1987,
I've tried to respond a couple of times, but I keep having technical problems. I know nothing of your condition, but I recognise the feelings.
After I had my heart bypass, I got a dose of the "why me"s. At 47 I was too young for heart stuff. You being younger brings an added dimension.
At the cardiac rehab group I go to, there is a young lady who goes - and she's been going since she was late teenage. So why not try making contact with your local rehab group to see if they have any younger members that you could meet?
Otherwise such groups can be a bit daunting because they are full of older people. The folks are generally friendly though.
Somehow or other I can't but help there would be some demand or benefit of having some group for younger people with a heart conditions. You could try to form such a group (through these pages, say) to form an interest or distraction.
Otherwise, I try all the tricks to keep positive. That includes having things to look forward to, exercise, meeting friends etc. etc. However you think or feel, you are not alone :-D
Good luck with things,
David
