Could someone explain troponin levels to me, I have searched the internet but nothing really made sense with what I was told.
A couple of days ago I again got rushed in to Hospital suspected HA, very severe pains in my chest radiating to between shoulder blades and into neck and shoulders. I have syndrome X so nothing ever shows on ECG but it can be seen when the pain comes because my BP goes up (181/107) and HR just increase’s. GTN spray was having little effect so they gave me morphine. My Paramedic’s were very good and extremely competent and one of them knew about MVD which is a bonus.
At the hospital my troponin’s were measured at 6.5 (sorry I do not know what units or even reference). They kept me in to review and do a second test after 12 hours.
For the first time I was in hospital whilst I had another breakthrough event and they fed me morphine.
The 12 hour test came back at 8.5
I was told that because it hadn’t gone above 14 and that there was no problems on my ECG then no heart issues. This is what I don’t understand because the local hospital cardiologist now comes up with it’s wind and acid? Two days later and I still feel like sh*t with pains in my chest.
Could someone please do some explaining to me!
