The Men's Room: High fat low carb' diets for heart health
I was stunned to read the other day that the huge American heart study which you may have heard of as the Framlingham study has actually shown no correlations between LDL or toal cholesterol levels whereas low HDL levels did have a significant correlation. It would seem that if we want to be obsessed with Cholesterol then raising our HDL is the way to go. There is also little evidence relating fat and heart disease. In fact one way that has been proven to raise HDL is the consumption of Saturated fat. It seems that gradually mainstream is becoming aware that the main culprits are sugar and simple carb's and its these two elemenst we should all focus on. Fat has been a costly distraction and we should be lowering sugar, carbs and those damaging grains of which wheat is the number one culprit.
