My loved posts
Hi, my name is Amanda and I am 49 .
The reason I joined this community was to find out more info and read stories I could identify with. I had a heart attack 5 weeks ago and following that an angiogram that showed my main artery was very narrow. The symptoms had only really started 6 weeks previously when I started to get chest pain whilst swimming. I swim 3 times a week and have done so for the past 2 years , so I put the pain down to a chest infection, as I had a cough at that time. Weeks later I started getting pain upon moving about, went to GP who referred me to cardiology thinking it was Angina. One particular morning I had walked somewhere and had severe crushing painbut after resting it went away and I then went to work (as you do...) Struggled only when walking about. The next morning I had pain as soon as I got up so Irang NHS 111 for advice who then despatched a paramedic , I ended up in A&E where it was found I had the heart attack 2 days prior. 5 weeks on and I am doing well and cant wait to return to work (I work in the nhs)and resume a 'normal' life. Ive been very positive about the whole experience and feel lucky to now be sorted. The support of my lovely family and friends has been amazing and as I enter into my 50th year my focus is on getting fit and well for my girls 50th birthday trip to Benidorm in April ! We have had it planned for a while as its also my 2 best friends 50th birthdays this year.
